Pet Portraits

Today Pet Research Blog added my pet portraits to their store! I have also updated the link on my Pet Portraits page at the bottom. When you click the link it will take you to the order form and prices.

It is sad to know over six thousand animals die each year of neglect as well as hearing the estimated statistics HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) have come up with. They say that shelters take in six to eight thousand dogs and cats a year, which approximately three to four million are euthanized.

Though there are quite a few shelters, they have limited space and resources. Due to this it is very important to them to have community support. Therefore, I am very proud to be joining with Pet Research on this project which will be donating 15% of the proceeds to non profit animal support organizations.

Pet Portraits

by Jenn Lee on Jan.05, 2010, under Blog

I have always been an animal lover since I first came to America way back in 1973. My parents had a little Toy Poodle named Petite and a German Sheppard named Brandy. Over the years my parents bought many additions to the family from Lhasa Apso’s to Westminster Terriers.

Recently I was approached by my good friends Jason & Christy, the authors of PetResearch.net blog and site, to offer pet portraits. They are true animal lovers with a plethora of knowledge they share with their blog about animal care. Pet portraits or keepsakes can make a great way to keep a memory of a pet forever. Pets are part of our families that quickly make their spots in our hearts and homes.

Together with PetResearch.net I am offering pet portraits. These pet portraits can be sketches, paintings or sculptures. In keeping with my ECO friendly art theme, they are created on/with recycled paper products. You can see a list of available sizes and prices on my Pet Portraits page.

Over the years when I started thinking about pets for myself and my children, I leaned towards animal adoption. Adopting pets had a connection for me, like me being adopted. Here was a whole group of animals that were homeless or uncared for that needed love. Being a child that was found on the streets of Korea, I could empathize with them. So when Jason suggested we donate a portion of sales to Non-Profit Animal Charities. I felt very strongly that this was definitely something I wanted to support and this is a great way to do so!
