Pet Portrait
by Jenn Lee on Mar.24, 2010, under Blog
I had the pleasure of working on another pet portrait this week. I chose to start offering my pet portraits because our pets become a part of our family. I feel these portraits immortalize our beloved family members whether they are still with us, or once they are gone.
All of my art whether portraits, wall art or sculpture are created out of ECO friendly materials. I have focused solely on conservation in my own use of materials. These pet portraits are created on handmade canvases created out of all recycled paper products. They are as strong as a store bought canvas, as well as as thick. I also custom size these canvases to fit standard frame sizes available at most framing stores.
This particular portrait was of a wonderful dog named Rudy. Rudy was a beloved pet that passed away several years ago.
The biggest pleasure I get is when I complete a project such as this and see the expression from the client. That is when I know I captured the essence of their loved one. With that being said, here is Rudy! He’s one handsome doggie!
ECO Sunset
by Jenn Lee on Mar.22, 2010, under Blog
With the inspiration of spring now here, I decided to create another sunset painting. Given the warmth and richness of color in the sunset and the deep greens of grass, I felt that this painting perfectly emotes the feelings brought by spring.
This 18″x18″ painting is another in my ECO friendly series, created out of 100% recycled paper products as well as non toxic acrylic paints. Knowing I created this completely out of recycled materials gives me such an added pleasure and contentment. In my own little way, I feel like I am contributing to conservation and recycling.
I am currently accepting donations of newspaper, metal coat hangers and wood for my art projects. If you would like to donate, please feel free to contact me via the contact page. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated, as well if you commission an art piece will earn you a credit of 25% off.

Portrait Painting
by Jenn Lee on Feb.11, 2010, under Blog
The past few days I have been cooped up inside due to weather here in Kentucky. I try to keep my creative energies flowing even with the lack of sunshine and the howling snowpocalypse outside.
Yesterday I completed the Iron Horses painting that I posted here, and it turned out exactly as I envisioned which tickled me to death! Today I added the last touches to a portrait I did for fun of my eldest daughter Jessica….

KOI Fish Eco Wall-Hanging
by Jenn Lee on Feb.03, 2010, under Blog
This is an 18×24″ two dimensional wall hanging I created out of 100% recycled paper products, including the canvas which is 1/4″ thick. The two Koi fish are molded, with recycled paper materials, giving a nice raised effect to the painting. Recycled copper wire creates a water ripple effect to complete the wall-hanging.
This piece is inspired by Chinese watercolors. I felt that the style was very soft, but adding the raised textures and wire gave a unique modern touch to the artwork.
ECO friendly frames will add the finishing touch to this art piece, giving it a shadow box feel. All ECO friendly frames are custom made out of 100% recycled wood scraps.

Scrappy
by Jenn Lee on Jan.30, 2010, under Blog
Scrappy is a spunky, adorable pup recently adopted by Kentucky couple Charlie & Christina, through the Kentucky Humane Society.
It warms my heart to see families adopt homeless pets. So many pets are rescued each day it is overwhelming.
I was commissioned by one of their good friends Beth, to paint a portrait of Scrappy for Christina’s birthday. The 11×14 painting was created on a 100% recycled paper canvas I created, as well as the paints used being non toxic acrylics. I have added it to my Pet Portfolio page…feel free to take a peek!
It was an honor to be asked to do this portrait, as well a joy to know the recipient loved it! Happy birthday Christina!
